We know from experience that in many non-union workplaces, workers work long hours, often in hazardous conditions due to air quality, weather, equipment problems, production demands and lack of effective safety programs and procedures - just to name a few. USW Local 1-1937 is a full-service Local Union that represents over 6000 members working in a wide range of occupations including, logging, mining, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, trucking, casinos, warehouses, fabricating, agriculture and public sector workplaces. We have 10 full-time Officers and 6 Support Staff travelling out of our five offices located in Burnaby, Duncan, Courtenay, Port McNeil and Port Alberni to help our members. They provide vital services that are second to none, which we hope you will come to know and be a part of.
